CEO, Registered Dietitian

Hello and welcome! I'm a Registered Dietitian, team leader, entrepreneur, adventurer, and mom. In 2012 I found myself in private practice and it's been an amazing journey. Truly ever-evolving!

I greatly value the importance of an inclusive practice. I've dedicated years and continue to learn, listen, advocate, collaborate, connect, and work to change systems that perpetuate discrimination, stigma, oppression, injustice, and undignified health care.

I invite curiosity as we navigate the complexity of client's lives and how it affects meal planning, eating habits and patterns, food availability, making meaningful changes, body image, and their relationship to food. I encourage a focus on markers of health, symptom improvement, food and body relationship, and client confidence or self efficacy as a measure of progress and/or recovery.

I greatly value the importance of an inclusive practice. I've dedicated years and continue to learn, listen, advocate, collaborate, connect, and work to change systems that perpetuate discrimination, stigma, oppression, injustice, and undignified health care.

My clients' lived experience plays a huge role when it comes to exploring their health.

Today I primarily support clients with:

    • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome(PCOS)
    • Fertility
    • Disorders of the gut-brain Interaction such as: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Functional Dyspepsia, Functional Diarrhea, and Functional Constipation
    • Disordered eating and food relationship counseling

Aside from 1:1 client care I also love working with the media, including television, radio, print, and sponsored social media content. I've worked with a variety of Canada-wide, and international brands. I've also had the pleasure of working with Best Health Magazine, Canadian Living, Chatelaine, Toronto Tonic, Cottage Life Magazine, Co-op's Table Magazine, The Globe and Mail, CTV News Morning, and Saskatoon's Global News Morning. Find more of my media presence here.

I love public speaking and have presented to and worked with many small and large groups throughout Saskatchewan including community groups, corporate wellness, post secondary schools, and professional groups.

I have a great appreciation for local agriculture and love learning from our local food producers.

As a busy mom and business owner, I consider myself a passable home cook with a passion for creating family-friendly, low maintenance meals and snacks. Recipes are shared on the Blog.

Registered Dietitian (Regina Location)

I have watched the most amazing people robbed of joy due to struggles with their food and/or body relationship. When society is constantly telling you that you aren’t good enough, it can feel like you are the problem. I am here to tell you with 100% certainty that you are not the problem.

I use a trauma-informed approach to disordered eating and eating disorders, meaning I am willing to meet you where you are at and work with you towards recovery. People are more than what they eat, and achieving health is more complicated than simply eating "well” and exercising. While I am invested in improving your physical health, I also care about your mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health.

I have experience counselling teens, adults, families, and large groups. I have my educational designation from IAEDP (International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals), and I continue to build my education on anti-racism activism, weight inclusivity, neurodiversity-affirming care, trauma-informed care, and social justice related topics. Food and health are inherently political, and I would not be able to do my job without understanding the whole picture.

My role at Food to Fit includes supporting individuals with:

    • Breaking the chronic dieting cycle
    • Binge eating or feeling out of control with food
    • Eating disorders including binge eating disorder, anorexia, and bulimia
    • Body image counseling
    • Group presentations/public speaking

I want to help you find strategies to improve your gastrointestinal symptoms, quality of life, and food relationship.

My experience demonstrates that, despite popular belief, diets and weight loss are not required to improve health, even if you have been diagnosed with a chronic condition. Restrictive diets don't work long term, nor do they help people feel more empowered or motivated. Instead, my approach focuses on overall health and wellness. I help my clients build meaningful nutrition and lifestyle habits that are sustainable long term.

I want to help you feel more empowered and equip you with the knowledge and skills to better manage your cholesterol, blood sugars, or chronic condition. Together we will create a plan that both improves your relationship with food, and works towards health-promoting goals. Eating can be pleasurable and you deserve to experience greater peace around food and meals!

Feeding babies and children is about more than just food. HOW we feed our children is just as important as WHAT we feed them. Because “when a flower doesn’t bloom, you change the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”

When that inner part of you is crying out “something is wrong”, but everywhere you turn you’re filled with self-doubt, I want you to know that you can trust your intuition. It’s there for a reason and you deserve to feel good about feeding your child.

I use a baby-led, responsive and individualized approach to feeding your child. This includes flexible planning that prioritizes the feeding relationship, honours where the child is at, and respects and develops their autonomy. My goal is to help you discover and understand your child’s internal cues and curiosity while building capacity and confidence in your feeding journey, long term.

I have experience working with parents of children right from from birth to 6 years of age, as well as expecting parents for prenatal nutrition. I have earned a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist certification while I work towards my IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and am a reflex-based oral function provider. I continue to build my education on the infant gut and microbiome, tongue ties, child development and attachment, neurodiversity-affirming care and trauma-informed care while I am guided by the lived experiences of families. Feeding is one way to nurture our children and I strive to understand how it fits within the whole picture.

Staying hydrated isn’t just a summer thing—it’s a year-round habit that helps your body thrive. Fluids support digestion, remove waste from the body, cushion joints, control body temperature, support blood sugar regulation, and help prevent dehydration.

So how much should you drink?
A common recommendation is 6 to 8 cups of water or other fluids per day; BUT everyone’s needs are different—it depends on your health, activity level, and the weather. You may need more if you're active or in a hot climate.

Here are some tips to increase your fluid intake:
- Sip fluids throughout the day—even before you feel thirsty.
- Choose water first.
- Keep a refillable water bottle with you so you have access to water at any time of day.
- Add flavour with lemon, lime, cucumber, or mint.
- Include other fluids like milk, 100% juice, broth, and herbal tea.
- Drink extra water when you're active or it’s hot out. You might add an electrolyte tab that contains sodium to aid in hydration status (sodium is the primary electrolyte lost in sweat).

Canada's Food Guide recommends eating plenty of ve Canada's Food Guide recommends eating plenty of vegetables and fruits every day. Veggies and fruits are packed with fibre, helping with digestion. They also contain essential nutrients that support heart health, lower blood pressure, and may reduce the risk of stroke and some cancers. Aim for a variety of textures and colours! 🥦🍓

When it comes to eating fruits and veggies we can try to aim for 5 a day. The 5 a day campaign is based on advice form the World Health Organization (WHO), that encourages eating 5 servings of fruit and vegetables (5 portions of fruit and veggies in total, not 5 portions of each) a day to help reduce the risk of serious health problems.

Here are some ways to help you eat more fruits and vegetables:
- When preparing vegetables and fruit, prepare extra for a meal or snack the next day
- Keep washed and sliced vegetables/fruits in the fridge for easy access
- Add fresh or frozen vegetables to sauces, soups, chili, and casseroles
- Top cereal or yogurt with sliced fresh fruit or frozen berries
- Freeze overripe fruit to use later in baking or smoothies

Hunger is one body signal that people may use to g Hunger is one body signal that people may use to guide their desire or need for food.

Reasons beyond physical hunger:
- Social connection - because other people around you are eating.
- Emotional - to nurture or even distract from an emotion.
- Psychological - because you know it’s been a few hours since you last ate, and it may be a few more hours before the next opportunity.
- Cravings - you desire a specific taste, texture or temperature of food.

To say we should only eat when hungry is verging on another diet.

Intuitive eating is about making decisions based on instinct, emotion, thought, and taste preferences or cravings. It’s about collecting a range of inputs to help in making decisions around food and eating.
