Jacqueline Stickel (She/Her)

Registered Dietitian

I believe that eating can be an enjoyable and uncomplicated, unstressful part of life. My experience demonstrates that, despite popular belief, restrictive diets and weight loss are not actually imperative to reach improved health, even if you have been diagnosed with a chronic condition. Diets and restricted eating don't seem to work long term, and don't help people feel more empowered or motivated.

I'd love to help you build meaningful nutrition and lifestyle habits that support or manage your cholesterol, blood sugar, digestive symptoms, or chronic condition. Together we will create a plan that both improves your relationship with food, and works towards health-promoting goals. Eating can be pleasurable and you deserve to experience greater peace around food and meals.

My professional experience includes a variety of practice areas: school nutrition, community nutrition, outpatient counselling, health education, clinical nutrition and long term care. At Food to Fit Nutrition, I use a non-diet approach to support individuals with:

· Management of cholesterol and triglycerides, heart disease, and metabolic syndrome

· Insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes

· Celiac disease

· Functional gut disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

· Thyroid conditions such as Hypothyroidism, Graves’ disease, and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

I am a member of Dietitians of Canada. I stay current in the field of dietetics through reading journal articles, attending webinars and networking with my colleagues, and I continue to learn and grow from the clients I have the privilege of working with.
