Eating can be an emotional experience that takes you back to a certain time or place. It can be the catalyst to a gathering between friends or family you have not seen in a while, or help celebrate your culture. It can be a neutral experience that allows you to shut off your brain and escape from the demands of your day-to-day life. Eating can be an unpleasant experience for those with gastrointestinal issues, which can lead to stress or anxiety around food and eating. Everyone deserves to enjoy eating. I want to help you find strategies to improve your gastrointestinal symptoms, quality of life, and food relationship so that eating can once again become a pleasant experience.
In 2011, I graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the UofS with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Since becoming a Registered Dietitian, my focus has primarily been on outpatient counseling. I have had the privilege of working with people navigating a number of different nutrition concerns in all ages and stages of life. In the last few years, my practice has expanded to include exploring food relationships and using a more intuitive approach to eating while still addressing the immediate issues at hand. My role at Food to Fit includes supporting clients with gastrointestinal conditions such as:
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Chronic Constipation
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
- Ulcerative or microscopic Colitis
Of course, I am also here to discuss any other issues you feel are contributing to your decreased nutrition quality of life. I try to stay up to date with the latest nutrition trends as well as the ever-evolving body of evidence-based literature. I am also a member of Dietitians of Canada. Feel free to reach out to me for more information at any time. I look forward to being part of your journey!
