Blueberry Basil Smoothie

You guys! I've been wanting to play around with blueberries and basil for awhile now and the timing is perfect because my basil is thriving and I have a lot of it! I am so excited about this smoothie and just how nicely the basil compliments the blueberries. It's light and refreshing but filling with an impressive 16g of protein/recipe and you gotta love that colour!

Ingredients (single serving)

1/3 of a frozen banana

1 cup frozen blueberries (using frozen fruit to make this beverage cold and thick)

1/4 cup fresh basil

1/4 cup plain 2% Greek yogurt

1 tbsp hemp hearts

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup regular Soy beverage (could use unsweetened soy milk for less sugar and carbohydrates but it'll likely change the taste)

 

Directions

Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend very well until it's lump free and a uniform colour
